Uzbekistan
Spring 2026
In May 2026, CEI was invited to Uzbekistan by the Department for Children's Recreation and Health. Uzbekistan is in the midst of a multi-year project to open camps throughout the country and ensure that every 7-to 14-year-old attends camp. CEI was asked to consult with governmental leadership and provide a 2-day professional development for over 100 camp directors. We also visited camps and camp leadership in Tashkent, Samarkand, and Bukhara.
China
Spring 2026
In April 2026, CEI was invited to China to meet with government officials in Shanghai, camp directors and owners in Shanghai and Hangzhou, and to visit camps in Southern China. We visited Oriental Land, a camp serving 3,000 to 4,000 children a week, and held a roundtable discussion on camp education with its leaders.
United Nations
Fall 2026
In September, 2026 CEI will speak at the United Nations as part of a program promoting cultural exchange. CEI will share its message that camps are powerful agents of cultural exchange and highlight the importance of camp education. The two day event will be held at Ellis Island and the United Nations building.
