One responsibility of a government is to prepare its citizens for a strong economic future. Most advanced countries do this through formal education, and China is among the world’s leaders in investing in their children.
China is also experiencing a challenge. A newer societal expectation is to have families raise more than one child, however, the responsibility for ensuring each child is physically, mentally, and emotionally ready to contribute to society is a large one, and families need more support outside of formal schooling to choose to raise more than one child.
Camp Education is the answer. Providing Camp Education for each child is what results in happy children, and parents with happy children will choose to have more children. Camp Education is carefully designed to meet the needs of the entire family, by educating the “whole child”.
In a quality camp education environment, children participate in an outdoor, non-traditional setting to:
- Get connected with nature, to benefit their minds and their bodies
- Develop independent habits (outside of their family)
- Work closely with peers to build a community, which sometimes includes eating, sleeping, and being away from home
- Learn new skills that build confidence
- Develop a strong, personalized understanding of interpersonal skills, such as empathy, conflict resolution, and servant leadership
- Value adaptability, innovation, problem solving and resilience
- Engage in spontaneous, creative play
A child that can have a quality Camp Education experience is a flourishing child or young adult who will soon be ready to contribute to the workplace, begin their own family someday, and support a strong society.
Chinese summer camps, after school programs, seasonal camps, and schools providing out-of-school programming can all add Camp Education to their programs by applying for membership in Camp Education International (CEI). CEI is the #1 world leader in best practices for Camp Education, led by experts with years of direct experience providing quality camp education programming around the world.
Membership for youth organizations in Camp Education International is free (upon approval). Members will be able to access resources to share the mission of camp education, participate in professional development opportunities, and download activities to immediately use in their programs. Member organizations will also be able to provide authentic CEI Certificates of Camp Education to every child in their program, demonstrating that each participant has taken part in a quality camp education experience.
